Dawn in the City is a Funky Soul, Rock and Roll band from Edmonton, Alberta. They play an eclectic mix of up-tempo, spirit-lifting music that includes original songwriting and a diverse list of covers from some of the most favourite artists of the last century – always adding their own, unmistakable flavor. They like to call this style of music: Funk ‘N’ Roll.
Dawn in the City could be one of Western Canada’s best kept secrets in live entertainment… They are a four piece band, who are all about the funky fun and groovy goodtimes! Many local venues know they can continually count on Dawn in the City for high quality live music. As well, DITC can offer a quality sound and lighting production that can be scaled to meet most and any sized venues needs.
Originally forming in 2006, Dawn in the City has evolved into a top notch group, a true variety band that emphasizes high energy music and dancing tunes. They have been winning over audiences of all age groups, and tend to cater to most musical tastes. Stylistic influences in the DITC sound includes Funk, Classic Rock, R&B, Soul, Ska, Indie Rock and more.
